Annoyed vs. Challenged
I think I’ve finally hit the career epiphany, where I realized what the difference between annoyed and challenged is. Not that I’m scared or anything…but yeah, I’m scared shitless right now. In a good way.

The Ruffles That Made Me ROFC (roll on floor... →
I want. Shoulda bought that pair at Steve Madden. If they don’t have it at the LES outlet anymore, I might kill someone.  Why is this bloody pair of boots $240?  Jeffery Campbell, you think people don’t need to pay rent, is it? Or, do you think girls who will still wear ruffles will have that much moolah to shell out?  Too expensive!!!!!

Word of the Day: Bangable
Bangable (adj)  Modification of “Bang”, coined by Marc Jacobs’ Bang Campaign 1. Something good and wonderful 2. Something so good and wonderful it is worthy of “banging” (of having sexual intercourse with) i.e. Scott Sternberg’s collaborative cookie with Momofuku Milk Bar is so bloody delicious it’s bangable.  Megan Fox has a bangable body.  ...

Handwritten
Haven’t written anything in a while, and I have found out, my words flow better when I’m writing with a mechanical pencil. Not a pen, not a keyboard, not  2B, but a good, ol’ 0.5mm mechanical pencil. Time to buy a new Pilot Shaker. I want the sky blue one which accompanied me through a good portion of my NYGH days.  Mayhaps instruments are indeed instrumental in the creative...

Where is my coffee?
On days like these, I wish I have a personal assistant. Or an intern. It’d be nice if someone can run three blocks down to grab a large coffee+milk tea.  This will be a week where double doses of caffeine is essential for survival and preservation of mental health + tenacity.

Breathe
As long as you are still breathing, that’s all that matters.  Enjoy— because that’s the last thing in life that’s still free.

Smile
Smiling, like lying, is about practice. The more you do it, the easier it is to believe it’s true.  Let’s try a little exercise: First, think about a smile. The way it looks, the way it feels.  Then, your brain will do the work, the neurons will transmit that image through the fibers of your muscles, electronic pulses will eventually reach the definitive muscles controlling the...

Core Training
Today, a pregnant lady kicked my ass.  Setting? A core training class at Pure Yoga.  I was surprised that this lady carrying a fetus could do an hour’s worth of what looks like aerobics leaps, be Bender-bendy, and also hold the plank pose for what seems like ten times as long as humanly possible.  You know the worst part about combining kickboxing+coretraining+yoga? You get ALL THE PAIN,...

And I'm done
And I’m done being ridiculous today. Isn’t being a girl amazing?  All I can say is, with all the drama and the silences and the return of drama in the past few months, surprisingly I’ve learned to enjoy life and its punches.  It’s not life if everything is smooth-sailing and easy right?  And I say this now, watch me eat my words at the end of today.

Decidedly Self-Destructive
Maybe I hate taking no for an answer. Maybe I’m decidedly self destructive. But don’t you think the most exhilarating things in life are the most dangerous? Take leaping out of planes and throwing yourself down an unknown rapid for instance…there is a sense of accomplishment that comes with being a survivor. Of course, if surviving comes with triumph, it’s even better. Am I...

Summer Tracks To Prep For Summer Withdrawal
If you feel like you haven’t gotten to do anything you have planned for this summer, and is panicking that there is only less than a month of happy sunshine left (well, legitimately, since weather is super volatile these days and we might get summer sunshine along with Santa…), then check out this girl’s awesome mixtape. I met her over the weekend in San Diego (definitely sunny...

Driving, fast cars, manual transmission
I remembered why I liked places that needed cars, and why I liked that his car was a very unnecessary stick shift— because he somehow managed to juggle holding my hand while driving without dropping it. In New York, boys are not built with the same multitasking talent—they don’t even know how to take the wheel to begin with.

Step 1
It’s time to give self a loving hug. Hug your knees into your chest with a deep inhale. And exhale.  With a sigh, let everything go. You are done with being self-destructive.  Good job.

Don't use your imagination too much. It's...
I can’t sleep. And it’s all Murakami’s fault— Haruki, not Takahashi. The relationship between dream and reality have started to bear a new meaning, and it’s not just about the lines blurring or some metaphorical mindfuck. And…I need some time to reconcile his slightly defeatist (slightly because the protagonist does in a way influence the outcome with his perseverance and actions. But it remains...

8/10: Word Of The Day
Word of the day: Oeuvre “oeuvre |ˈœvrə| noun the works of a painter, composer, or author regarded collectively : the complete oeuvre of Mozart. • a work of art, music, or literature : an early oeuvre. ORIGIN late 19th cent.: French, literally ‘work.’”

Tigers and Cats
Approximately ten years ago, someone called me feline, and I used to think I was more of a hamster back then, so I got uber offended. See, hamsters are stupid, chubby, and adorable, but cats are big bags of issues with intimacy problems. Now I see that ounce of truth in the comparison. You know how cats always seek attention when given none, and the more you want to confine them to your lap like...

Consuming
Maybe I am self destructive and masochistic. I want that all-consuming, violent, core-shaking relationship. Maybe we are all secretly sadistic so we can feel something…so the world is not just an endless seguing lapse of mundanity.

Kick-Ass
Just because I know I can kick your ass at life, doesn’t necessarily mean I want to. Well, at least it doesn’t mean I want to make you feel bad about it. But now? It’s on buddy. It’s on.

Nudity Is Always Funny →
Since when did nudity replaced laugh tracks as the cue for laughter? I guess, it also depends on who is naked. I don’t personally find porn very funny. Unless it’s gay porn. But, as long as Jay Burachel or Paul Rudd or Zach Galifianakis have his balls (or ball? I can’t tell from the pictures) hanging, holding on to a rubber chicken (don’t ask, just laugh) or wearing ballons...

What if, I don't want to?
Despite everything, I do believe in cosmic justice. Perhaps the almighty up there do dish out challenges to his more capable creations roaming about down here, and they end up facing more adversity than others. Like I believe, some people (and too many wonderful friends out there) have been in a shit line of luck with relationships perhaps because we can handle the failure? And yes, practice...

Superfast jellyfish
Superfast jellyfish— a type of saltwater invertebrate with ability to conduct emotional osmosis and has been deemed mythical because no one has ever documented it on film nor successfully caught one. Thrives along the coast. Speedier than the regular jellyfish and is extremely adaptive to surroundings. Carries slight voltage and poison. Extremely colorful and has the approximately the same...
